Skholla's Idiyappam Grocery Combo consists of
1)Skholla Rice flour / Arisi maavu 1Kg
2)Aashirvaad Iodized Salt 1 Kg

Cooking Ingredients:
1)2 cups of rice flour
2)Water, as needed
3)1 tablespoon of oil
4)Salt, to taste

Cooking Equipment:
1)Idiyappam maker (also known as "sevai nazhi" or "string hopper press")
2)Steamer or idli cooker

Cooking Instructions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, take 2 cups of rice flour. You can use either store-bought rice flour or make your own by grinding raw rice and sieving it to remove any coarse particles.
2. Add salt to taste and mix it well with the rice flour.
3. Boil water in a kettle or saucepan. You will need hot water to make the dough.
4. Gradually pour the hot water into the rice flour mixture while continuously stirring with a spoon. Be careful as the water may be hot. Start by adding small amounts of water and gradually increase until the dough comes together. The amount of water required may vary depending on the quality of rice flour.
5. Once the dough is cool enough to handle, knead it well using your hands until it becomes smooth and pliable. The dough should be soft but not sticky. If it feels dry, you can add a little more hot water.
6. Divide the dough into small portions. Take one portion and shape it into a cylindrical or oblong shape, similar to a small log.
7. Grease the idiyappam maker or string hopper press with oil to prevent sticking. Place the shaped dough inside the press.
8. Heat water in a steamer or idli cooker. If using a steamer, make sure the water is boiling gently.
9. Place the idiyappam maker on top of the steamer or idli plates and press the dough in a circular motion to create thin noodle-like strands. You can make concentric circles or any pattern you prefer.
10. Steam the idiyappam for about 7-10 minutes or until the strands become translucent and cooked. Avoid overcooking as it can make the idiyappam dry.
11. Once cooked, remove the idiyappam from the steamer and let them cool for a minute.
12. Gently transfer the idiyappam to a serving plate. Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.
